We have been trying to promote firefighter fitness by doing many different events and fundraisers this year. Everything from short triathlons, 5k runs, 10k runs, and longer distance triathlons. Check out the Triathlon Training page for more pictures.
The cause evolved into the National Firefighters Endowment Turnout Challenge project to raise funds to be used to assist fire departments in need of equipment. Many firefighters from across the country have jumped on board. As always, if you are able to help monetarily or if you want to improve your fitness level, you can get involved HERE.

Firefighter Brain Hackenburg completed the full distance REV3 triathlon in September with gear on for the marathon run after swimming and biking. He has set his sites on breaking the Guinness World Record for fastest half marathon in a Firefighter's Uniform, without an airpack. The record (2 hours 4 seconds) is currently held by Brother Firefighter Stuart Ruston from across the pond in the UK.
Brian is set to attempt the record run during the Santa Hustle half marathon race in Sandusky, OH on December 15, 2013. Guinness has approved his uniform and now he is coordinating witnesses, photographers, and videographers in addition to pounding the pavement. Anyone in Sandusky area that wants to help and/or cheer Brian can contact us any time before raceday. Stay tuned for updates and raceday footage.
